Why we teach incremental warehouse builds before ambitious joins
By Hana Sorell
Learners often arrive wanting a heroic join that answers every question. We redirect that energy toward incremental slices that prove grain, test filters, and log assumptions in an activity log teammates can read.
Incremental builds also mirror cloud cost ops realities: smaller compiles, clearer lineage, and easier rollbacks when something misbehaves. We are not training database administrators, yet we want analysts who speak responsibly with platform partners.
During weekends, we pair short builds with reflection prompts so Sunday async work reinforces Saturday live blocks. That cadence keeps career switchers from burning out while still shipping tangible artifacts each week.
