General Terms
Last updated 2026-04-02
1. Service description
Signal Harbor Academy provides online education experiences, including certificate programs, weekend intensives, portfolio reviews, and corporate upskilling workshops. Access is delivered through hosted materials, live sessions where scheduled, and asynchronous assignments. We may update descriptions when curriculum adjustments improve clarity or align with quality standards requested by external reviewers.
2. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would send disputes elsewhere. For consumers residing in Korea, mandatory protections under the Framework Act on Consumers, Act on Electronic Commerce, and related statutes apply where they cannot be waived. Venue for formal disputes shall be the courts of Seoul, unless a stronger mandatory venue applies to you as a consumer.
3. User obligations
You agree to provide accurate enrollment information, keep credentials confidential, and participate respectfully in cohort spaces. You may not scrape materials, resell curriculum, or attempt to disrupt our systems. Employer-sponsored learners must confirm they have permission to share any workplace-derived examples used in assignments. You are responsible for maintaining backups of work you store locally.
4. Acceptance and eligibility
By enrolling or browsing interactive areas, you accept these terms. Some programs carry prerequisites described on their detail pages; misrepresentation of experience may lead to reassignment or withdrawal. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, a guardian must approve enrollment where required by local law.
5. Suspension and termination
We may suspend access for conduct that jeopardizes cohort safety, infringes intellectual property, or violates applicable law. You may stop using services at any time; refund eligibility follows the Refund & Cancellation policy when fees were collected. Upon termination, licenses granted to you for course materials end, except for copies you are expressly allowed to retain for portfolio use as stated in program-specific guidance.
6. Intellectual property
Curriculum, recordings where provided, templates, and branding remain our property or that of our licensors. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to use materials for personal learning during active access. Portfolio use of your own original work is encouraged, but you may not redistribute instructor-only answer keys or cohort-only datasets outside permitted channels.
7. Liability limits
To the fullest extent permitted by Korean law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from service use, including lost profits or missed promotions. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to a paid enrollment is generally limited to the fees paid for that specific enrollment period, except where prohibited. We do not guarantee hiring outcomes; career coaching provides guidance, not placement promises.
8. Notices and communications
We may send operational notices to the email you provide. You may opt out of marketing emails while still receiving transactional messages about access, billing, or policy changes. If contact information goes stale and bounces repeatedly, we may pause services until updated details are supplied.
