Portfolio reviews: what we push back on during capstone coaching

We frequently ask learners to replace generic headlines with operational questions their artifact actually answers. If the headline could describe any portfolio, it is not ready.

We also push for documented data limits. Reviewers outside Signal Harbor Academy should see what you excluded and why. That transparency reads as maturity in hiring conversations without promising outcomes we cannot verify.

Finally, we challenge folks to rehearse out loud without reading tables. If you must read numbers, the visual hierarchy still needs work. The career coach records optional practice sessions so learners can watch their own filler words disappear over time.
